Delivery & returns

How delivery works

You are paying 100% upfront, before the item ships. Here is exactly what happens to your order, step by step.

That is a real ask from a supplier you may not have bought from before, so here is the container cycle, step by step.

The container cycle

  1. You order and pay

You pay the full price online through Straumur, our secure payment processor. The price you see already includes duty and VAT. Nothing gets added later.

  2. Your order joins that week's cutoff

We run one consolidated shipment from Poland every week. Every order placed before the weekly cutoff goes into that week's container as a single batch, rather than being shipped item by item.

  3. We place the purchase order with our suppliers

Once your order is locked into the week's batch, we place the PO with REDATS (equipment) or FCAR (diagnostics), the same suppliers and catalog we buy from for our own workshop.

  4. Consolidation in Poland

Every order in that week's batch is gathered at one point in Poland and packed into a single consolidated shipment. The freight for that shipment is split between the orders in it, instead of every customer paying for a separate international parcel.

  5. Sea freight, Poland to Iceland

The container ships. This leg runs on a fixed weekly schedule, so once your order is in a given week's container, its shipping timeline is set.

  6. Customs clearance

The container clears Icelandic customs on arrival. Duty and VAT on your order were already built into the price you paid. This step does not generate a second bill.

  7. Ready at Keflavík

Your order is available for pickup at the Njarðarbraut 3L showroom, or delivery can be arranged. Ask at checkout, or contact us, to confirm which applies to your order.

Because everything moves as one weekly container, the exact number of days from cutoff to arrival depends on that week's sailing and customs schedule. The confirmed delivery window for your specific order is shown at checkout and in your order confirmation. We do not publish a generic number of days, because it does not hold up every week.

If something's wrong with your order

Damaged item, wrong item, or a fault on arrival: contact us with your order number and photos within 48 hours of pickup. We take it up with the supplier or freight forwarder to work out at which stage of the journey the damage happened. This is settled by hand with them, not by an automated claim.

If your item is unavailable after you've paid

We re-check stock with the supplier just before sending the purchase order, since weeks can pass between your order and that point in the cycle. If your item is no longer available, we contact you with three options: a replacement, joining the next container run, or a refund through Straumur.

Picking up in Keflavík, and what happens if you don't

Once your order is physically ready at the Njarðarbraut 3L showroom, we send you a pickup notice — collect it yourself, or ask us to arrange delivery to an address of your choice, price agreed per delivery. If it sits uncollected, we send reminders at 7, 14 and 30 days.

Heavy equipment: the last mile

  • Items over 100 kg go by specialised transport, not standard pickup or courier. The surcharge is calculated from the actual weight and shown before you pay, not hidden in the product price.
  • Installation and commissioning is a paid, optional service you can select at checkout for equipment that needs it, such as lifts and alignment rigs.
  • Ordering more than one heavy item at once: we don't total the transport surcharge automatically for large orders. We contact you to confirm the combined weight and price before checkout completes.

Cancelling or withdrawing from an order

Until the purchase order for your order goes to the supplier, you can cancel it by contacting us, and we refund the full amount to your card through Straumur. Once the purchase order has been sent, cancellation is no longer possible and the statutory right of withdrawal applies instead.

Questions

Before you order

The things people ask before they order. If yours is not here, write to us.

Where do I collect the equipment?

At Njarðarbraut 3L in Keflavík — the workshop and the showroom share that address. Delivery to an address can be arranged; ask with your order or write to office@nextcar.is and we will confirm which applies to yours.

How does it get here from Poland?

The supplier ships to our consolidation warehouse in Poland, the container is packed there and sails to Iceland. After customs clearance it comes to the workshop in Keflavík. A container leaves every week, so your order catches the next sailing after payment.

What if the container is late?

We contact you. Dates are tied to the sailing and to customs — a storm or a backlog at the border can move them. You are not left to find out afterwards: you get a message when the order status changes.

Can I cancel an order?

Until we send the purchase order to the supplier, you can cancel the order by contacting us, and we refund the full amount to your card through Straumur, our payment processor. Once the purchase order has gone out, that option disappears and the statutory rights in the terms apply instead.

It arrived damaged, or it is the wrong item

Contact us within 48 hours of pickup with your order number and photos. We take it up with the supplier or the freight forwarder to establish where in the chain it happened. Those 48 hours do not limit your statutory rights — it is the window that lets us pass the claim on effectively.

How does the warranty work?

The manufacturer’s warranty (REDATS or FCAR) and our own statutory seller’s liability are tracked separately — we do not merge them into one blanket "guaranteed". The details are in the terms.
