We sell what we use

Next Car ehf runs a workshop at Njarðarbraut 3L in Keflavík. We do engine service, computer diagnostics, 5D wheel alignment and tire work. Customers from Keflavík and the rest of Reykjanes bring us their cars every week, and we do that work ourselves: over the lift, on the balancer, with the FCAR scanner.

The equipment shop came out of buying equipment ourselves. In Iceland that means paying what the one or two local distributors ask, because there is no real competition, and waiting weeks to find out whether a single TPMS tool or a set of balancing weights is worth ordering from abroad. We were paying that too.

So we went to the source. REDATS supplies lifts, tire changers, balancers, TPMS and workshop tools. FCAR supplies diagnostics, 5D alignment systems, ATF and DPF service equipment. We bring it in on our own schedule, in volume, on a fixed weekly container from Poland.

We are still a workshop as well as a supplier, at the same address.

The tire changer or 5D alignment rig we sell you is the machine in the next bay. If something about it matters to a mechanic, such as cycle time, chuck range or how it holds up on a Tuesday with six cars booked, we have run it ourselves and can tell you.

A large prepayment to a supplier with no track record is a real risk, and we know it. That is what the showroom is for. Come to Keflavík, watch the machine run and talk to whoever used it last. The container schedule goes up before you check out, and duty and VAT are inside the price on the page, so nothing is added later.

We speak Polish, Icelandic and English at the counter. A large share of Iceland's independent workshops are run or staffed by Polish mechanics, and a technical question is easier to answer in the language the customer works in.
